Laveo Portable Toilet for Aged Care & Disability
More dignity for the person. A cleaner, more pleasant routine for the carer.
The Laveo DryFlush is a battery powered, waterless bedside toilet for older people, people living with disability and care at home. Place it in a suitable private space close by, including beside a bed, when reaching the bathroom is difficult. Each flush twists and seals waste away, with no commode pan or liquid waste tank to empty and no water, chemicals or plumbing.

How DryFlush works
1. Sit and use the toilet as normal.
2. Press the flush button. The liner twists and seals the waste, then brings a fresh section into place.
3. Change the refill after 15 flushes, or sooner if it reaches the replacement line.
Daily care includes cleaning the seat and outer surfaces, checking the refill and keeping the battery charged. Follow the Australian user manual for cleaning, refill replacement and charging. Do not charge the battery while it is connected to the toilet.
Optional accessories
Adjustable & Foldable Toilet Safety Frame: an optional aluminium support frame with a maximum user weight of 136 kg. This is a separate limit from the toilet's 225 kg capacity.
Floor Tray & Lift Kit: raises the toilet by 75 mm. Consider the user's preferred seat height, foot support and ability to sit down and stand up. The standard seat height is 430 mm; overall height with the lid closed is 464 mm. Ask our Australian team about any additional measurements needed for your setup.
Accessories don't replace an assessment. Please check suitability with a health professional or OT. This isn't intended as a medical claim or substitute for professional accessibility equipment.

Will this toilet suit the person and their space?
Check the footprint: the toilet measures 407 mm wide by 508 mm deep and 464 mm high overall. Allow additional space for access, any support frame and assistance from a carer. Seat height is 430 mm; overall height with the lid closed is 464 mm. Ask our team for any additional seat dimensions needed for your setup.

Yes, Laveo can serve as a waterless bedside toilet for an older person when the setup suits their needs. It provides a familiar toilet style close to the bed, with push button waste sealing and no commode pan to empty. Check seat height, available space and safe transfers with the person's OT or care team where support is needed.
Laveo makes a very personal part of care more comfortable for both people. For the person using the toilet, knowing their carer does not need to empty and wash an open pan of urine or faeces can help preserve dignity and ease embarrassment.
For family carers and support workers, each powered flush twists and seals waste inside the liner, helping contain odours. There is no commode pan or liquid waste tank to pour out and rinse, making this part of the job cleaner and more pleasant. Routine surface cleaning, refill replacement and appropriate disposal are still required.
Laveo is a practical alternative to a bedside commode when avoiding pan emptying and washing is a priority. A traditional commode collects waste in a removable pan. Laveo twists and seals waste inside its Mylar liner after a powered flush, helping contain odours without water, plumbing or a liquid holding tank. It uses refill cartridges and a rechargeable battery; routine surface cleaning and refill changes remain part of care.
Yes. The Laveo is a self-contained toilet that does not require plumbing or a water connection, so it can be positioned in a suitable bedroom or other private space. The available floor space, ventilation, safe access and the user's ability to transfer onto the toilet should be considered.
No. The Laveo does not require a water connection, plumbing or a traditional dump point. It uses a rechargeable 12V battery and DryFlush refill cartridges to contain waste. The sealed waste still needs to be handled and disposed of according to applicable waste-handling requirements.
At the press of a button, the liner twists to contain waste and pulls down a fresh section. Each cartridge provides up to 15 powered flushes. A use is one toilet visit; a flush is one powered bagging cycle.
With Pee Powder, up to 60 uses per cartridge is possible under the maximum-use sequence: up to three urine-only visits followed by one bowel movement and an immediate powered flush, repeated across 15 cycles. Flush after every bowel movement and sooner if needed. Waste volume, toilet paper and flushing habits affect yield; replace at the warning line or earlier if full. This is a maximum, not a typical or guaranteed result.
Facilities must follow their own infection-control and waste-handling procedures.
Yes. DryFlush Australia can provide a written quotation and product information for older people, family carers, home care teams and aged care providers. Tell us the delivery postcode, toilet and accessories being considered, and who the quote should be addressed to. Any funding approval depends on the person's arrangements and provider.
The Laveo may be considered as assistive technology where it is related to a participant's disability, supports their goals and represents value for money. Funding is determined individually by the participant and the NDIA. Consider the user's ability to safely transfer onto and off the toilet, available space, seating height, positioning, access for carers and how waste will be handled. Individual suitability can vary, so an OT or other appropriate health professional can help assess the person's needs and the proposed setup. Care facilities should also follow their applicable infection-control and waste-handling procedures.
